The original importer of oil cloth fabric in the USA

WIDTH AND LENGTH

Our oilcloth is 47.5"/120 cm wide and rolls are 12 yards/ 11m in length. Our 68" round tablecloth is cut and pieced for width.

SEWING AND CRAFTS

We recommend a size 14 needle, monofilament thread and a Teflon pressure foot. Oilcloth does not ravel or fray but can be edged with a serger using puffy thread, bias tape or other fabrics. It's easy to cut!

CONTENT & MANUFACTURING

Modern oilcloth is a vinyl product with a poly/cotton scrim backing for support and strength. It does not contain linseed oil and former methods of manufacturing are commercially obsolete. It is printed by the old fashioned rotogravure method. Some of our prints are from copper rollers from the 1950's!

REMOVING FOLD MARKS AND RESIDUAL ODOR

Place unfolded oilcloth on a flat surface to rest, wrinkles, folds and odor fall out especially fast in the warm sun.

CAN I IRON OR MACHINE WASH OILCLOTH?

Because oilcloth is waterproof, machine washing is not recommended and will not be effective. Wipe clean with a soft soapy cloth and rinse with vinegar to restore shine if needed. Ironing or machine drying is not recommended. It is relatively stain proof but pen marks or other surface stains can be easily removed. There is no UV inhibitor added so extended exposure to strong sunlight can fade.

RESTRICTIONS

The CPSIA act of 2008 prohibits oilcloth garments such as bibs, smocks or toys for children under age 12. Oilcloth sold in California contains a Prop. 65 Warning (see attached and probably Shopify has the latest disclaimer).
